Study suggests global warming set to worsen snow shortages on Europe's ski slopes

A scientific study published Monday projects that over half of Europe's ski resorts will face a severe lack of snow if temperatures rise 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, while nearly all would be affected by an increase of 4 degrees - presenting challenges for the industry and policymakers, and threatening a harsher reality for ski lovers.

One of world's largest icebergs A23a drifting beyond Antarctic waters: Report

The iceberg A23a, which broke away from Antarctica's Filchner Ice Shelf in 1986, is finally drifting beyond Antarctic waters. It had been stuck in the Weddell Sea for many years but has now started moving propelled by wind and ocean currents. Measuring around 4,000 square kilometers, the iceberg is three times the size of New York City and twice the size of Greater London.
