With July hottest month on record since 1880, will 2023 breach the 1.5 degree celsius threshold?

Recent data released by NASA shows that July 2022 was the hottest month on record, being 1.18 degrees Celsius warmer than the average July between 1951 and 1980. This, along with other analyses, indicates the possibility that 2023 may breach the 1.5 degrees Celsius temperature threshold.

The iceberg A23a, which broke away from Antarctica's Filchner Ice Shelf in 1986, is finally drifting beyond Antarctic waters. It had been stuck in the Weddell Sea for many years but has now started moving propelled by wind and ocean currents. Measuring around 4,000 square kilometers, the iceberg is three times the size of New York City and twice the size of Greater London.
