Hurricane Helene weakens to a Category 1 storm

Hurricane Helene has downgraded to a Category 1 storm with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph. Initially striking Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, it caused severe flooding and power outages affecting over 885,000 homes and businesses. Now moving northward to Georgia, the storm continues to impact thousands of residents.
