UK, Italy's Eni unveil deal on carbon capture project

The UK government and Italian energy company Eni Thursday announced a deal to create a major carbon capture and storage network to store millions of tonnes of CO2 beneath the Irish Sea. Eni plans to store 4.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year, a quantity that could rise to 10 million after 2030, equivalent to the emissions of four million cars.

One of world's largest icebergs A23a drifting beyond Antarctic waters: Report

The iceberg A23a, which broke away from Antarctica's Filchner Ice Shelf in 1986, is finally drifting beyond Antarctic waters. It had been stuck in the Weddell Sea for many years but has now started moving propelled by wind and ocean currents. Measuring around 4,000 square kilometers, the iceberg is three times the size of New York City and twice the size of Greater London.
