One billion Africans being harmed by cooking pollution

One billion Africans have to cook on open fires or with fuel that is hazardous to their health and the environment, the International Energy Agency said Friday. Two billion people across the world still cook on open fires or with rudimentary stoves fed by wood, charcoal, agricultural waste or manure, the IEA report found.

One of world's largest icebergs A23a drifting beyond Antarctic waters: Report

The iceberg A23a, which broke away from Antarctica's Filchner Ice Shelf in 1986, is finally drifting beyond Antarctic waters. It had been stuck in the Weddell Sea for many years but has now started moving propelled by wind and ocean currents. Measuring around 4,000 square kilometers, the iceberg is three times the size of New York City and twice the size of Greater London.
