Climate change supercharged 'fire weather' behind Canada blazes

A new scientific analysis has found that human-caused climate change made the severe fire weather conditions that fueled Canada's record-breaking wildfires seven times more likely. The study also revealed that fire-prone conditions were 50% more intense due to global warming caused by burning fossil fuels. The ongoing devastating fire season in Canada has resulted in massive destruction, evacuations, and dangerous air pollution.
