Climate change already reducing global GDP: report

A University of Delaware report reveals that climate change has already caused significant economic damage, particularly in developing countries. The impacts include disruptions to agriculture, manufacturing, reduced productivity from high heat, and spill-over effects on global trade and investments. The global GDP loss due to climate change in 2022 was estimated to be 6.3%, with low-income countries and tropical regions experiencing the highest losses. Southeast Asia and Southern Africa were particularly affected, losing 14.1% and 11.2% of their GDP respectively
