UN chief to observe 'impact of climate crisis' in Antarctica

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Chile's President Gabriel Boric are set to visit Antarctica to witness the impacts of the climate crisis firsthand. During their visit, they will tour three Chilean scientific bases, the Collins glacier, and Kopaitic Island, emphasizing the effects of global warming. The trip aims to promote global collaboration in mitigating climate change. The UN has warned that the planet is on a concerning path towards a temperature increase of 2.5C to 2.9C by 2100.
