Lava flows from Iceland volcano slow as heavy snow sets in

Lava flows from an Icelandic volcano are slowing due to heavy snowfall, making it difficult to observe the eruption. The eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula occurred after weeks of seismic activity. Flights are unlikely to be affected, unlike the 2010 volcanic eruption that caused travel chaos. The volcano may stop erupting, but the pressure in the magma chamber could trigger another eruption in a few weeks. The nearby town of Grindavik was evacuated, and the airport in Keflavik experienced a brief spike in sulphur dioxide levels.
